Futurepedia Tool Reviews API and MCP — User Ratings and Review Text
Send a tool slug or link and get its user reviews: the star rating, the review text (plain and as HTML), the reviewer's name and a link to the review. Set max_items to cap how many come back (up to 250).
- You send
- a Futurepedia tool slug or link, and how many reviews you want (up to 250)
- You get back
- rating, review text and reviewer name for each user review of the tool
- Coverage
- Futurepedia records with a public page.
- Price
- 1 point per returned record — $1 per 1,000
- Billed per record actually returned, capped by max_items. A request that returns nothing costs nothing.
Ways to get this data
Three approaches teams use today, and where each one runs into trouble.
| Approach | What it takes | Cost | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Futurepedia directly | Open the page on Futurepedia and scroll through the list | Free, and slow | Fine for one record, useless across a list, and the layout differs on every platform |
| Building a scraper | Write it, host it, and repair it when Futurepedia changes its pages | Engineering time | A maintenance commitment for something that isn't your product |
| NeuralVerge | One request, the same shape as every other source in the catalog | $1 per 1,000, misses not billed | Returns what Futurepedia publishes at request time. Other platforms are separate sources with the same request format |

}How to run it
The same lookup works from the app, the API, or as a tool an agent can call mid-task.
Results come back in the same envelope as every other source: a session id, a readable summary, the structured result and the points charged. max_items caps how many records are returned and billed.

Where this field shows up in an actual workflow.
Read what users say about a tool, with the rating attached to each review.
Collect review text about your own tool or a competitor's.
Compare total_found with the review_count on the tool record.
Pull review text as input for a summary or theme analysis.
Coverage, freshness and limits
What this source covers, how fresh it is, and where it stops.
Futurepedia records with a public page.
Read at request time, so the answer reflects the platform as it stands when you ask.
This source returns information Futurepedia shows publicly. Every response carries the session id you can trace.
- —Reviews are user-written and a tool may have few of them, as the 4 in the sample.
- —Each review includes the reviewer's name and user id as Futurepedia shows them. Use them for aggregate reading, not for profiling the individuals.
- —Only rating and text are returned, with no reply or vote counts.
Questions, answered
